John Baldessari is one of my favorite artists. The Met had a great retrospective a couple of years ago…we went through it backwards. Jenny Holzer owes a lot to him.
Here is a brief film that premiered at SxSW this year. It’s narrated by Tom Waits. He was Baldessari’s conceptual choice. He would be mine too. He has a great voice and a quick wit. In fact, let’s replace Morgan Freeman with Tom Waits from now on when it comes to voice-overs.
